Anew Emmerdale fan theory has suggested that Sarah Sugden will die in the soap’s Valentine’s Day ice stunt. This speculation comes as viewers attempt to work out who lives and who dies this week – with at least sixteen lives on the line.
Sarah’s name wasn’t one of those released, but one Emmerdale fan has predicted that she could be among the fatalities. And this is no idle speculation either – with the recently released promo seemingly containing a big ‘clue’ to Sarah’s fate.

Soap fans speculate Valentine’s Day death following new promo
The soap released a new trailer last week which depicted a heart-shaped balloon floating from the Woolpack to the scene of the crash. It then deflates, sinking to the icy floor.
The trailer then cuts to a hand banging on a sheet of ice, trapped in the freezing cold river below. Could this be Sarah’s hand? And even if not… just how safe is Sarah?

Sarah to die on Valentine’s Day, Emmerdale fan predicts
Writing on social media in the weeks leading up to the big ice stunt, one Emmerdale fan put forth their theory.
“The heart balloon – Sarah. She could be involved in something else other than the car crash. The New Year’s trailer Cain is standing over a grave and just because it’s valentines doesn’t exactly mean that the heart is for valentines,” one viewer wrote.
Regardless of whether the hand belongs to Sarah, the heart link would make sense. In June 2018, Sarah collapsed with heart failure after a history of poor health. In October that year, she underwent a heart transplant to stabilise her condition.
Although the operation was a success, Sarah’s medical issues remain. Could this lead to her death on Valentine’s Day?
