Another Strictly Come Dancing star has reportedly performing with a nasty injury, it has been revealed. Alex Kingston, 62, took to the Blackpool Tower Ballroom with her professional partner Johannes Radebe, 38, performing their Couple’s Choice. The duo were awarded 35 points, which makes it all the more surprising that the actress was performing with a dislocated rib.

After a video of their choreography was shared on the Strictly Instagram page, her daughter Salome Violetta Haertel revealed her mother danced through the pain on Saturday night. She wrote: “So so proud!!! Slayed the dance floor, dislocated rib and all!!!” It comes after the BBC were forced to make a huge change, scrapping tonight’s dance-off following La Voix’s exit.

The drag queen – real name Chris Dennis – was given a bye to next week after sustaining a foot injury. However, La Voix was informed by doctors that she could no longer continue, meaning she was forced to withdraw from the competition alongside her partner Aljaž Škorjanec.

Issuing a statement, the heartbroken star said: “I’m absolutely devastated to be withdrawing from Strictly Come Dancing.

“This isn’t the glittering exit I ever imagined, and it breaks my heart to feel like I’m letting people down.

“My spirit wanted to keep dancing but my foot had other ideas! Thank you for every cheer, every vote and every sparkle of support – it’s meant the world to me.

She added: “This isn’t the ending I imagined but I’ll cherish this forever.”

With no dance-off during Sunday night’s show, fans were left wondering whether it would still air, while others suggested it should be cancelled.

“So what’s the point of Sunday’s show when everything can be done tonight #Strictly?” said one viewer.

A second fumed: “They’ve announced nobody will be going home this week, yet they’ve said they’ll be speaking to La Voix in tomorrow’s results show. What results exactly? How about saving some license fee money and just not having a show rather than spaffing cash on an hour of filler?”

However, there will be plenty to look forward to as Lewis Capaldi will be performing and La Voix will speak out following her exit. The jam-packed show will also see former finalists Danny Mac, Jay McGuiness, Ashley Roberts and Layton Williams return to the dancefloor for a group routine at Blackpool, each revisiting one of their most famous Strictly moments.
