Robert Sugden is back in Emmerdale village, and now fans have suddenly linked his return to Rebecca White being k!lled off.

Last year, when Ross came back to the Dales, he explained that his partner Bex had died and that her son Seb had gone to live with other family.

But now, fans have suddenly realised why Rebecca was k!lled off away from our screens.

Robert’s return to Emmerdale after six years away

Robert Sugden came back to Emmerdale this week and attempted to stop Aaron from marrying John Sugden.

It was always going to be messy with Aaron being engaged to his ex-husband’s half brother but this just took the messiness up a whole level.

Robert, out of prison, had returned to win back the ‘love of his life’ and hoped Aaron would ditch John for him.

But, he didn’t receive the warm welcome he’d hoped (what did he expect?) and received a punch in the face. Although, Aaron did kiss him better a bit later.

It was clear that Aaron had a lot of thinking to do – marry John or get back with Robert.

But, with Robert set to return permanently to the soap, fans have now figured out how his return might’ve played an impact on another former character’s d3ath.

Fan ‘works out’ real reason for Rebecca White d3ath

When Ross returned, he revealed that Rebecca White had sadly died before he came back to the village. Her and Robert’s son Seb was living with other relatives.

At the time, fans wondered why Rebecca had been k!lled off, and especially off-screen. But, now one fan thinks it was in preparation for Robert’s return so that he can reunite with Seb and live with him in the village.

A fan on X wrote: “If Robert is back then surely we’ve got Seb back too at some point in the future? Maybe this is why they k!lled Rebecca, so Seb could be with Robert full time?”

Another person also agreed and replied: “Seb is also 9-10 and living with Rebecca’s aunt as Ross handed her over to him when Rebecca died. So it is possible. That is if Seb knows who Robert is…”
