Amber Davies has spoken candidly about the vicious online abuse she endured following her rescue by the Strictly Come Dancing judging panel at the weekend.
The Welsh West End performer and dance partner Nikita Kuzmin landed in the bottom two alongside Lewis Cope and Katya Jones during Sunday’s (December 7) results show.
Despite achieving a flawless score of 40 out of 40 the previous evening on Saturday (December 6), Amber and Nikita were forced to perform once more to win over panellists Motsi Mabuse, Craig Revel Horwood, Shirley Ballas and Anton Du Beke.
The judging quartet opted to advance Amber and Nikita to this weekend’s semi-final, resulting in Lewis and Katya’s elimination from the competition.
During Wednesday’s (December 10) edition of Strictly’s It Takes Two, Amber and Nikita discussed Lewis and Katya’s exit from the show, reports Wales Online.

The former Love Island contestant said: “We’ve been really close to them since one. Katya would give me tips and tricks and for me, Lewis was like my rock in the building. It was such an unfortunate situation.”
Host Janette Manrara observed: “There was a lot of upset online about his elimination. How have you handled some of those comments?”.
Amber responded: “I would like to think I have thick skin and this week has been tougher than usual.

“I would like to remind everybody that I was never meant to be here. I was a quick replacement. I am just dong my best.
“You know, the love is more overpowering than the hate so if you have sent a kind message our way, then we really do apprentice it so much. The host reassured Amber: “We are lucky to have you, my darling! I will say that”
The final four couples will each take to the floor with two performances in their bid to claim a spot in the grand finale on December 20.
It’s been revealed that Amber and Nikita will showcase a Couple’s Choice to Fly Me to the Moon by Raye alongside a Tango to Higher by Michael Bublé this weekend.
Balvinder Sopal and Julian Caillon are set to glide through the Waltz to At This Moment by Michael Bublé before delivering a Salsa to Rhythm Is Gonna Get You/Get On Your Feet by Gloria Estefan.
