There’s been new rumours, seemingly from Coronation Street viewers, circulating online about a pregnancy plot.

Just months ago the first suspicions of a baby twist were shared, and now recent scenes have only encouraged these even more. Some fans found the rumours on TikTok, with a comment apparently suggesting upcoming scenes would be a shock.

Other fans believed scenes in January and February hinted at the surprising twist for teen Betsy Swain, amid her shooting ordeal on Tuesday. Betsy was accidentally shot and injured after Rob Donovan held hostages at the Barlow house.

Betsy’s mother had gone in to help her girlfriend Carla Connor, Rob’s sister, as he threatened to kill her with a gun. Lisa managed to grab the weapon, only for a scuffle to follow between them.

Betsy was outside of the house and got struck by the bullet, with no one realising what had happened until afterwards. She was rushed to hospital as her tearful mum panicked for her daughter’s life.

Now, her hospital dash has once again sparked rumours that a pregnancy storyline is on the way for the teen. Some fans think tragic teen Mason Radcliffe, who was murdered in January, could be the father.

Other fans think she and Dylan Wilson may have slept together and he could be the dad. No such storyline is confirmed, and plenty of fans have shut down the claims saying it won’t happen.

But it hasn’t stopped the rumours circulating, with one fan posting: “Theory: The people of TikTok are saying we might find out that Betsy is pregnant tomorrow.” Another agreed: “So… Betsy finding out she’s pregnant tomorrow.”

A third tweet read: “Betsy is pregnant isn’t she?” as a fourth commented: “I’ve thought this all along.” While one fan wrote: “It’s def coming. Would be right around the perfect time to find out. Would explain why someone described their reaction as ‘shook’,” another suggested it might explain recent scenes with Lauren Bolton who also had a teen pregnancy.

But other fans were quick to rubbish the rumours, suggesting it could not be on the cards amid another storyline looming. A fan pointed out: “The spoilers get so misinterpreted and repeated they become fact until proven wrong when the ep airs.”

A further tweet said: “I don’t think they are going there,” as a third said: “Am I the only one who doesn’t think Betsy is pregnant?”

Another fan commented: “Can we just talk about it because all these rumours flying around about Betsy being pregnant. She clearly isn’t atm because when Cait and Sydney went live the other week she had no bump on and she went straight down to filming and had a cropped jumper for filming scenes…”
