SNL star Heidi Gardner revealed that Travis Kelce has been her favorite guest host on the show – and it has nothing to do with Taylor Swift.
Gardner, who joined the comedy show in 2017, was asked to choose her favorite celebrity host while on the red carpet of SNL’s 50th anniversary special on Sunday.

And while Gardner is a fan of Swift, her affinity for Kelce is because she’s a Chiefs fan and a Kansas City native. ‘Love Taylor Swift too, but I’m a Chiefs fan,’ Gardner told Page Six. Kelce hosted the show in March 2023 – several months before he began dating Swift during the summer of that year.
Gardner, who has proudly shared her Chiefs fandom on social media, added that she would ask Kelce about his pregame routines, such as what he ate or if he showered before playing.

‘I was like a little sister just asking all the questions I’ve always wondered,’ she said. On February 9 – the day of Kansas City’s eventual Super Bowl loss to the Eagles – Gardner penned a tribute to her team on Instagram ahead of the game. ‘I LOVE YOU CHIEFS and I think you’re the best sending you all my love and luck today,’ she wrote.
The carousel post included a slew of photos related to the team, including her in a full Patrick Mahomes uniform and her with Kelce and Mahomes at various events.
Unfortunately for Gardner, the Chiefs were stopped short in their pursuit of a historic Super Bowl three-peat as they lost to the Eagles 40-22.

While the 35-year-old tight end said before the game that he hoped to still be playing in three years, he indicated afterwards that retirement was being considered. ‘I’m gonna take some time to figure it out,’ Kelce said on his ‘New Heights’ podcast.
‘And I think I owe it to my teammates that if I do come back that it’s gonna be a wholehearted decision and I’m not half-a**ing it, and I’m fully here for them.
‘I think I can play, it’s just whether or not I’m motivated or it’s the best decision for me as a man, as a human, as a person to take on all that responsibility.’
