Loose Women’s presenter, Christine Lampard, dropped a bombshell at the end of Wednesday’s show as she announced major changes to the programme’s schedule.
During the latest instalment of the popular ITV show on July 9, Christine and her fellow panellists Coleen Nolan, Jane Moore and Mariella Frostrup engaged in lively discussions covering current affairs.
Yet, as the broadcast drew to a close, Christine shared breaking news with the viewers and live audience: Loose Women is temporarily shelving its usual schedule to make room for ITV Racing: Live from Newmarket.
Christine delivered the update saying: “That’s all we’ve got time for today and indeed the rest of the week because the racing is on.”
She went on to preview enticing segments planned for next week including catching up with Coleen Nolan’s brother and TV icon Brian Dowling.
Also celebrating Janet Street-Porter’s astonishing five-decade career in broadcasting, remarking: “Big Brother legend Brian Dowling and we’ll be celebrating Janet Street Porter 50 years on our screens, can you believe that? We’ll see you soon.”, reports Belfast Live.
Audiences will have to wait until Monday, July 14, for Loose Women’s return at the regular 12.30pm slot.
The announcement comes after an emotional revelation from Denise Welch on the July 8 episode when she expressed a heartfelt desire to “re-do” her son Matty Healy’s upbringing.
TV legend, now 67 and sober for the past 13 years, opened her heart about past addiction struggles during a poignant moment on air.
Denise was visibly moved as she admitted: “When you do reflect you have to forgive yourself for realising… I always get emotional because I wish that I could re-do bits of particularly Matty’s (Healy) childhood, because I was coping with addictions and self-medication..”
Fellow presenter Nadia soothed Denise, describing her as “the most proud, present mum”, eliciting a heartfelt response from Denise: “Matty and I talk about it, and we’re so close I just wish I could do it again”.
Christine prompted further reflection when mentioning The 1975’s headliner status at Glastonbury, prompting Denise to say with a mixture of pride and regret: “I’m incredibly proud, it’s just when I look at things, why couldn’t I? You know..”
