Strictly Come Dancing winner Kelvin Fletcher has made his first jump from soap land to Hollywood as the former Emmerdale star makes his movie debut.

Kelvin, 36, played Andy Sugden on ITV’s Emmerdale for 20 years, but recently quit the role and insisted he will not be returning any time soon.

He will now be appearing in a new World War II dram called We Go In At Dawn, playing a dashing secret agent.

His character is special forces operative John Seabourne, who parachutes into occupied France in a bid to rescue Victor Lawrence.

Lawrence is one of the senior planners of the Normandy landings and he’s being held at a Prisoner Of War camp after being shot down.

He teams up with local resistance fighter Ellie – played by Audrey L’Ebrellec – to pull off the daring jailbreak.

The film, directed by Ben Mole, was released earlier this week and also stars Samantha Coughlan and Ryan Winsley.

It’s not the only exciting role Kelvin has played since leaving Emmerdale.

The actor, who just weeks ago splashed out on a £150,000 Bentley, will take centre stage in as Prince Charming in Sleeping Beauty later this year.

Kelvin will take on the role at Sheffield’s Lyceum Theatre from December 4, 2020 to January 3, 2021, and he’ll be joined by CBBC presenter Sam Nixon, who takes the role of Jangles.

Kelvin is best known for playing Andy Sugden in Emmerdale – a role he played for more than 20 years – but recently made a name for himself as a dancing sensation when he took the Strictly crown earlier this year.

But his dancing debut didn’t come without controversy after he was snapped enjoying a 3am nightcap with his Strictly dance partner Oti Mabuse .

Just hours after the scandalous photos emerged, a source said Kelvin’s wife and mother of his children Liz Marsland unfriended him on Instagram .

Liz has been home with their children Marnie, three and Milo, one, while Kelvin has been dancing on the Strictly tour.

She was reportedly upset after seeing photos of him drinking late until 3am with Oti.
