After the d3ath of Suzy Merton in Emmerdale, viewers think they know what really k!lled her.

The character was k!lled off in the devastating limo cr@sh stunt this week, the first to perish with another d3ath set to air on Wednesday night. Suzy died instantly with her pals not realising at first that she was d3ad.

Suddenly they realised she had an injury to her head and she wasn’t breathing. Liam Cavanagh tried to save her but she was declared d3ad, with her body sinking with the limo.

But some fans were confused over Suzy’s abrupt d3ath, given the others didn’t seem as badly injured – while it later came about that Leyla Harding was also seriously injured in the initial cr@sh. Now, one theory has been shared about what it was that k!lled Suzy.

In a grim theory one suggestion is that Suzy had been wearing on her head may have caused her fatal injuries. Suzy was thrown up in the air when the car swerved before it cr@shed onto the lake.

As this happened, she and the others began to fly around the limo with Suzy falling backwards and her head seemingly hitting the interior of the limo. One theory is that the tiara on the top of the head might have hit the wall and impaled her in grim scenes not shown.

The theory read: “I had to rewatch the scenes to see how Suzy died and turns out it was the tiara she was wearing on her head and it went through when she flew up and hit her head against the roof. I really liked her it’s so sad, never ever wear anything sharp on your head in any circumstance!”

It comes as actress Martelle Edinborough – who plays Suzy – spoke out following the departure of her character. Taking to X, she wrote: “And just like that….Suzy is no more and a new chapter begins!! What an ep! It’s been such a blessing to have been a part of such an iconic show that I grew up on and loved by so many!! #Journeys.”

Fans rushed to pay tribute to Martelle, with one writing: “I actually thought the next ep might’ve showed that Liam had got it wrong, but obviously not! Gutted that you’ve left, Suzy was criminally underused, & I wish we were continuing her story! Onwards & upwards always, hope to see you onscreen again soon! Lotsa love to you.”

Another added: “Nooooo…. I had wanted to see you and Mary get together. All the best wishes in your new chapter.. Suzy will be missed,” whilst a third wrote: “going to miss suzy! thank you for being amazing, good luck in all you do.”

When one fan quipped she had kept her exit very quiet, with no fans convinced she would die, she replied: “Thank you so much lovely! And trust me it’s been hard! Haha I’ve known for a minute lol.”
