Taylor Swift is no stranger to making headlines, and this time, she has grabbed attention for all the right reasons.
The “Bad Blood” singer visited the Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri, earlier this month where she handed out signed copies of her Eras Tour book.
One interaction went viral when one teenager, Naya, complimented Swift’s outfit, calling it “tea,” only for the singer to send her the exact ensemble days later.

Naya posted her surprise haul to TikTok, which included a $4,500 tartan Miu Miu set complete with miniskirt and button-down top.”She is soo amazing im soo blessed, i love you Tay Swizzle you’re literally the Best,” Naya captioned the video.
The fan also showed the handwritten note that came with the big bags of shopping. “When you asked where I got it, I purposely didn’t tell you because I had a plan 🙂 Picked you up a few things I hope you’ll think are tea. Ha … Merry Christmas! Love, Taylor,” the singer wrote to the teen.

But for those who have followed Swift’s career for a long time, her generosity comes as no surprise. Newsweek has taken a look back at some of other generous gifts to fans.
‘Swiftmas’
In 2015, Swift went on a gift-giving spree during the holiday season which she dubbed, ‘Swiftmas’.
She gave money to many fans including $1,989—the name of one of her albums—to a fan named Rebekah who had written she was worried about paying back her student loans.
That same year, Swift donated proceeds from her song called “Welcome to New York” to schools in the city in honor of her making the Big Apple her home
Service Dog
Fast forward to 2018 and Swift had given $10,000 to 10-year-old Jacob Reid so he could get a service dog to help him manage life with autism. She also invited Jacob and his family to one of her concerts in Texas.
Artwork
Norwegian singer-songwriter Marie Ulven Ringheim showed people some presents she had received from Swift. They included two watercolor paintings, one even hand-painted by the singer herself.
Both painting were emblazoned with Ringheim’s lyrics and a handwritten note at the bottom of one of the paintings of a daisy flower that read: “Words by Marie, daisy by Taylor.”
“These wonderful paintings the one and only Taylor gave to me,” Ringheim said in the video captions. “These are framed and sacred forever.”
COVID Relief
Swift encouraged fans to post about their experiences living in the coronavirus pandemic to the former blogging site Tumblr. Those who shared about their lives were gifted with $3,000 from Swift herself.
One fan said the money had been “life-changing.”
“I thought it was fake,” Samantha Jacobson, one of the recipients told Business Insider at the time. “I saw the notification and I probably clicked her profile picture like 15, 20 times to make sure it was her legitimate profile. I was in shock. I didn’t know what to reply, how to reply, who to call, if I should cry, if I should scream, I was absolutely speechless.”
‘Tay-lurking’
Another Christmas gift-giving spree by Swift happened in 2015 when “Tay-lurked” and figured out where some fans either lived or worked and then investigated what their favorite things were. Then she would comment on their social-media posts with a Santa emoji to let them know to expect a gift in the mail, per Billboard.
Home for Pregnant, Homeless Woman
The “Shake It Off” chanteuse wanted to make sure a pregnant woman who was also homeless did not have to want for a thing when she welcomed her baby.
The woman, Stephanie, thought she had been gifted backstage passes to one of Swift’s shows in the U.K. in 2015, but really Swift wanted to meet her to deliver some good news. She had bought Stephanie a house and everything she needed for her baby.
“After the show, Taylor took us back to her dressing room where she told me, ‘Stephanie, you’ve been in my life for a long time and you’ve never asked me for anything. You could have reached out and I would have helped you. But you didn’t. [Your] mum told me,'” Stephanie told Billboard.
“She told me she wanted to give me the money back for my ticket that night. What she actually did was help us buy a home and all I needed for my baby. She told me, ‘I want you to be able to enjoy your little girl, not have to worry about all this stuff.'”
$30,000 Donation
Swift donated about $30,000 to a GoFundMe for a European fan to be able to study math at college.
“Vitoria, I came across your story online and am so inspired by your drive and dedication to turning your dreams into reality,” Swift wrote on the fundraising page in 2020. “I want to gift you the rest of your goal amount. Good luck with everything you do! Love, Taylor.”
These acts of generosity are just a few of many examples of how Swift spoils her fans. She also regularly makes sizable donations to charities and for emergency relief following major disasters.
