There’s violent and worrying scenes on Emmerdale next week.

One character is attacked and left for d3ad, with a resident rushing to help him. There’s also a shocking truth exposed regarding one villain’s past, resulting in possible danger for another resident.

It’s certainly a busy time in the village next week, as more than one character is under the spotlight. Our soap source teased of the episodes ahead next week: “It’s a tense and worrying time in the village. The attack of a well-liked villager certainly sparks confusion and fear, with villagers and viewers, left wondering who is to blame.

“John’s also in a spot of bother as his big lie about Aidan comes out and he’s left well and truly on the spot. Viewers will have to wait and see how he reacts though, and whether he can find a way to get out of his latest drama.”

It’s safe to say that by the end of next week, the walls could be closing in on k!ller John. Meanwhile for one character, his fate remains unknown sparking more concern for his loved ones.

The key storyline of the week has to be John and his lies unravelling to none other than his sister Victoria Sugden. Pictures show the moment he grows agitated as Victoria confronts him – but is she in danger?

It all begins when after trying to track down some of John’s old army pals for his wedding to Aaron Dingle, Victoria meets soldier Connor. But Connor soon drops the shocking news to Victoria that Aidan is still alive, despite her being told Aidan had died a long time ago.

“Victoria is left dumbstruck and doesn’t know what to do with the information,” our soap source revealed. “She realises in that moment her brother’s lied to her about something so huge, and she decides to figure things out for herself.”

Connor tells her what happened when they were all serving in Afghanistan, and explains that Aidan is in a coma in a hospital in Leeds. Deciding to pay him a visit, a stunned Victoria enters Aidan’s hospital room before quickly leaving.

Our soap insider added: “When John gets home, he knows something’s up and Victoria wastes no time in telling him she knows about Aidan. John gets frustrated as his sister questions him about why he lied. It’s certainly a tense moment for the pair.” But is Victoria in danger, and how will John get himself out of this one?

Elsewhere, doctor Liam Cavanagh is found injured and unconscious after an apparent attack. His partner Chas Dingle is horrified to be told what’s happened to her fiancé, after Mackenzie Boyd finds Liam in a bad way.

But who has hurt Liam and why? “Chas is left shaken when she hears what’s happened, especially after their recent torment they believe to be at the hands of his ex Ella Forster. It’s already been a tense few weeks, with Liam injured in the limo crash before hitting his head again during his showdown with Ella. To find out something has happened to Liam again, Chas’ blood runs cold.”
