All things must come to an end. Fans of Today were recently reminded of this when Savannah Guthrie had to say goodbye while working on the show. With Guthrie sharing her sentiments on social media, fans have also been sharing their reactions to the news.
Savannah Guthrie Recently Said Farewell On Social Media
Guthrie first joined NBC News in 2007. She later was announced as a co-anchor on Today in 2012, previously serving as a substitute for Meredith Vieira and Ann Curry.
Over the years, fans have seen Guthrie pursue a variety of ventures. This has ranged from writing children’s books to serving as a guest host on Jeopardy!.

Recently, Guthrie got the chance to attend Cannes Lions 2025 while on assignment for NBC. However, she took to social media this past Thursday to say goodbye.Taking to Instagram, Guthrie wrote, “That’s a wrap at @cannes_lions!” In a carousel post, the Today personality shared photos of her on the red carpet, complete with prominent figures, including actors, reality show personalities, and other journalists.
In the photos, Guthrie posed alongside Jimmy Fallon, Bozoma Saint John, Poppy Harlow, Mike Tirico, and Bowen Yang. A few of these famous faces also talked about the event in the comments. Yang, for example, wrote he had “a fab time!!!!”
As noted by the Cannes Lions website, Guthrie spoke at the “The Late-Night Hustle: From Comedic Gold to a Business Empire” session at the Debussy Theatre in The Palais. Guthrie joined with Fallon and Saint John to discuss late-night comedy as it “transformed from a television staple to a cultural institution, breaking through countless platforms and reaching new audiences around the globe.”
Fans Also Shared Their Reaction To Seeing Guthrie At The Event
Fallon is known for hosting The Tonight Show and for his time on Saturday Night Live. Saint John, a businessperson and marketing executive, is known for working as a Netflix CMO. She also recently joined the cast of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
Guthrie herself also appeared in a variety of outfits, prominently appearing in a yellow dress and a floral print dress. In addition to photos of her on assignment, Guthrie could also be seen enjoying herself, from having a drink to a quick dance video.
