Taylor Swift has become Spotify’s biggest earner in the last 12 months, earning her an eye-watering nine-figure sum.
The 35-year-old global star made $103.3 million in royalties from Spotify, after pulling her music from the platform in 2014 before adding back in 2017 after believing her music should be free to access.
Spotify paid out a record $10 billion to artists over the past 12 months, with Taylor topping the highest earners. Others included The Weeknd coming in at second, earning $51.6 million, Ariana Grande received $38.9 million and Bruno Mars pulled in $32.4 million.
But last year, two of Swift’s albums – her eponymous debut album from 2006 and 2017’s Reputation, were no longer listed on her Spotify page. However, fans thought this meant re-recordings – called Taylor’s Version were about to be released, while others assumed it was a bug.

Her debut album is back in the list of her albums on Spotify and Reputation can be played from search, but is not shown in her discography.
The singer is currently in the process of re-recording her first six albums that were released under her former contract with Big Machine Records. In 2019, Scooter Braun bought Big Machine – and the master recordings of Taylor’s first six albums, which she had fiercely fought to own herself.
After the producer had bought them, the Shake It Off singer said she would re-record them all, and has already done four of them. Since her Eras tour finished, she had decided to do some ‘normal’ day-to-day activities such as watching her boyfriend Travis Kelce play football.
She was spotted at the Superbowl, but the pair kept a low profile after Kelce’s team, the Kansas City Chief’s lost against the Philadelphia Eagles last month in New Orleans. However, Swift was there in support but was booed by fans in the stadium when she was shown on the jumbotron. Her reaction soon became a meme, when she looked shocked and gave a side eye to what was going on.
