Arnold Schwarzenegger left the hosts and audience of The View utterly astonished when he shared his take on immigration amid the chaos in the U.S.
The buff ex-Governor of California was grilled by co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin about his stance on the recent ICE raids in L.A. instigated by D0nald Trum, which have ignited pr0tests across the country. Farah Griffin, a former member of Trum’s administration, pointed out, “As the former governor of California…California has been in the headlines. There are obviously these huge pr0tests of President Trum’s immigration policies.”
The iconic Terminator actor and Austrian-born immigrant responded with, “I think the main thing is…the local g0vernment, the state g0vernment, and the federal g0vernment have to work together rather than fighting each other.”
Joy Behar, another co-host on the show, probed further, asking if, as an immigrant himself, he felt riled up by ICE’s actions, reports the Mirror US. “I’m so proud and happy that I was embraced by the American people like that,” he stated, attributing his success in Hollywood and his “beautiful” family life to his U.S. citizenship.

He emphasized, “But the key thing, also, at the same time, they have to do things legally. That is the important thing. It’s, we’ve gotta do things legal, and those people that are doing illegal things in America-the foreigners-they are not smart.”
The speaker forcefully stated, “When you come to America, you’re a guest, and you have to behave like a guest,” highlighting the responsibility of respecting the premises instead of partaking in criminal activities or abuse, according to Express US.
Continuing his discourse, he said, “That doesn’t really work in this country. I think the important thing is, when you become an immigrant, to think about, ‘Ok, I’m going to America, because I want to take advantage of the great opportunities it has.'”

“Then you have to think, ‘Ok, if I get all of those things from America, then I have to give something back.’ You have a responsibility as an immigrant to give back to America, to pay back to America, and to go and do something for your community for no money whatsoever,” he added.
These comments caused discomfort among some co-hosts of The View, with Sunny Hostin and Whoopi Goldberg providing counterpoints regarding the current ICE raids and the subsequent deportations of legal immigrants lacking identification.
His remarks ignited a flurry of debate on social media platforms as viewers voiced their disappointment with the celebrity’s position on immigration issues.
One individual vented their indignation by posting, “Arnold’s response to the ICE question is despicable! ! ! #theview.”
Meanwhile, another user expressed their scorn by tweeting, “F- you Arnold Schwarzenegger #TheView spoken like a true white man,” displaying their disapproval on Twitter.
A third viewer expressed frustration over the show’s focus, commenting, “With everything going on in the world why is #theview giving Arnold Schwarzenegger three segments? ? ?” while another was straightforward with their discontent, stating, “Arnold S WTF? ? ? I’m changing the channel..”
