Fans of This Morning have been spiralling over the presenting line up since rumours about Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard being replaced hit the internet. On Monday, it was reported that the ITV presenting duo might be replaced by former Strictly Come Dancing star Tess Daly and her BBC radio star husband Vernon Kay – A speculation that ITV later quashed.

However, it hasn’t stopped fans talking about who might make a better viewing experience if they were at the helm of the show – with some wild suggestions. Taking to X, formerly Twitter, one fan cheekily suggested: “Anybody else of a certain age seeing Roland Rat returning to try to save their skin. Tragic.” Another wrote: “They need to get rid of Ben & Cat but not sure Tess & Vernon are the answer! I like Alison & Dermot, Rylan & Emma Willis are also a good combo.”

Someone else said: “Ben & Cat are good presenters separately, but together they lack chemistry and seem to irritate each other at times… Dermot & Alison all the way for me… or Rylan & Emma.”

Other fans suggested that Cat and Ben have never been quite as good as their predecessors, Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield. One wrote: “It’s never been the same since Phil and Holly tbh. Rylan has been the better replacement.”

One more echoed: “Sian Welby and someone like Rylan is needed. After the scandal two grounded well seasoned professionals were needed tbf. But.. it ain’t half boring in comparison to what it was and there’s something a little out of touch about Kat. Sian is amazing when she fills in.”

The discussion follows rumours of Tess and Vernon being “wanted” by ITV bosses after they presented a special epsiode of BBC’s The One Show together.

 

However, ITV have quashed these claims as they shared that they “have no plans” to change the current presenting lineup.

In a statement, they told Express.co.uk: “We are very happy with Cat, Ben, Alison, and Dermot as This Morning’s lead presenters and there are no plans for that to change. 2026 has got off to a great start for the show with viewing up year on year and a weekly reach of 3.7 million viewers.”
