The half-brother of Meghan Markle has given his personal verdict on his estranged sibling’s new Netflix show.
Thomas Markle Jr, who hasn’t seen the Duchess of Sussex in almost 15 years, spoke to Kevin O’Sullivan on Talk and didn’t hold back with his scathing opinion. He claimed the new series, which premiered today, marked the first time he has “felt sorry and embarrassed for her”.
Meghan’s new eight-part series titled With Love, Meghan, invites viewers into Meghan’s home life as she chats with celebrity guests including Mindy Kaling, Roy Choi, and her former Suits colleague Abigail Spencer. She goes on to share lifestyle insights and culinary tips with her guests.

However, despite many fans eager to see a second series of the show, her half-brother, who last saw Megan at their grandmother’s funeral in 2011, is less than impressed with the offering. He also claimed that he hasn’t let father Thomas Markle Sr watch it yet due to his delicate health.
When the host asked Thomas Sr’s thoughts, Thomas Jr jibed: “I didn’t have enough heart medication for him to watch it. I didn’t want him to kick the bucket, so I’d have to go refill the prescription before I let him watch it.”
He also claimed the former Suits star “didn’t cook anything for anybody ever growing up,” despite her claims. And he also slammed Meghan’s previous claims that she grew up poor. He said: “That’s just another one of the malarkey stories she sold to the Royal Family for sympathy. We weren’t poor. She didn’t have to rub two nickels together at Sizzler’s salad bar.”

He revealed he thought the chances of Meghan’s series being a success were slim. However, despite mixed reviews, it appears many of her followers are praising her efforts. Shortly after its release, Meghan’s admirers have taken to social media to express their adoration for her new project. Taking to Twitter/X, one user wrote: “I love how Meghan loves to learn new food recipes and engages with the chef about it, I need to see her do more of this (GIVE ME SEASON 2).”
Another added: “Not me wanting to try everything Meghan is doing/cooking in her new show omg I’m obsessed #WithLoveMeghan,” and a third chimed in: “Thoroughly enjoyed that! It makes me so happy that Meghan is indeed surrounded by incredible, strong women who are her support system. She’s at peace, she’s in a good place and I love this for her!
“I can definitely see a season 2 in different locations, cooking different cultural cuisines and learning more about what the dishes represent and the stories of those who create them.” Currently, Netflix haven’t made an announcement over a potential second series.
