It was a fun game day with family for Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford.
The former TODAY fourth hour team reunited at the New York Giants’ home game against the New Orleans Saints on Dec. 8, and they had some of their loved ones by their side.
“Great day,” Hoda wrote on Instagram, sharing photos from the fun day out at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
Hoda’s eldest daughter, Haley Joy, 7, was at the game with her mom. Kathie Lee’s son, Cody Gifford, 34, and her grandchild Frankie, 2, were also among those in attendance.
As part of her slideshow, Hoda posted a close-up photo of her, Kathie Lee and Haley.
Hoda also shared a fun pic of Cody Gifford and Frankie being featured on the stadium big screen.
Several members of the TODAY family left comments on Hoda’s post.
“Best. Ever!” Savannah Guthrie commented.
Hoda’s TODAY with Hoda & Jenna co-host, Jenna Bush Hager, left multiple heart emoji in the comments, as did TODAY style editor Bobbie Thomas.
Kathie Lee and Hoda have connections to the teams that played in the game. Kathie Lee’s late husband, Frank Gifford, is a Giants legend, while Hoda is a longtime Saints fan, having worked in New Orleans earlier in her career.
Kathie Lee and Hoda co-hosted the fourth hour of TODAY from 2008 to 2019, and they have maintained a close bond ever since.
When Hoda shared in September that she will be stepping down from TODAY in early 2025, Kathie Lee posted a heartfelt message about her friend on X.
“Bittersweet news as my dear friend @hodakotb steps away from the Today Show,” Kathie Lee wrote in her Sept. 27 post. “Her warmth, laughter, and incredible spirit have brightened our mornings and touched countless hearts. Here’s to new adventures!”
Hoda has opened up in the past about her admiration and love for Kathie Lee. In 2018, when Kathie Lee announced she would be leaving TODAY, Hoda praised her friend’s bravery.
“I always felt sitting next to you was like a master class in this broadcasting business, because nobody, nobody, nobody does it like you do it,” Hoda said. “Nobody ever has and nobody ever will. You are all by yourself. And I think everything is contagious. Your fearlessness is contagious.”
