Emmerdale ties up a loose end from Caleb Miligan’s stabbing storyline tonight – and it paves the way for some disturbing discoveries.
Caleb is left frustrated by the lack of justice when it’s revealed that Shaun, the mystery man who attacked him, has somehow managed to flee the country.
The news is revealed at The Woolpack, as Caleb pays a visit and tells Charity Dingle that he’s received a disappointing phone call from the police.
Asked whether they’ve finally charged the culprit, who’d been released on bail, Caleb replies: “Have they heck. And they’re not going to now, either, because he’s in Thailand. Talk about incompetence.”

When Charity questions the guy’s mysterious connections and quips that he must be an “international drugs baron”, Caleb adds: “It doesn’t make sense, does it?”
Emmerdale fans know that Joe hired co-conspirator Shaun as part of the plot to steal Caleb’s kidney.
Joe needed someone to get Caleb to a private operating theatre against his will – and the job was taken to extremes when dangerous Shaun stabbed his target.

Joe and his partner-in-crime Dr Crowley feared that Shaun could expose their plan after he got arrested, so it seems that Joe has now used his vast fortune to get Shaun safely out of the country.
Unfortunately for the sly schemer, this still may not be enough, as tonight’s episode sees Caleb finally grow suspicious that Joe is hiding something as he puts the various clues together.
Fans can see how the drama unfolds in full when the episode airs tonight at 7.30pm on ITV1, or it’s also streaming now on ITVX.
