Good Morning Britain star Bernard Kosia has issued some touching words while announcing his exit from the ITV morning programme. Bernard, who first opened up on the show in 2021, when his closest friend Folajimi “Jimi” Olubunmi-Adewole died trying to save a woman from the River Thames, took to Instagram to confirm his time with the GMB team has come to an end.
The former Chelsea FC youth footballer who worked as a studio technician for ITV said he will “always be grateful for the opportunities” given to him through Good Morning Britain in an emotional post, which saw his followers flock to the comments section.
He penned: “Thank you to @itv @gmb for all the love, support, and unforgettable memories we’ve shared during my time there. You lifted me back onto my feet at a moment when I’d lost all hope, and you pushed me to grow in ways I’ll carry with me forever.
“I will always be grateful for the opportunities, the kindness, and the incredible people who shaped this chapter of my life. @gmb will always hold a special place in my heart… End of a beautiful Era.”
Attached to the heartwarming words was a picture of Bernard with Charlotte Hawkins, Susanna Reid, Ed Balls and Laura Tobin in the Good Morning Britain studio.
One of his followers wrote, “Super proud of you,” while another added, “Always puts a smile on my face seeing your achievements. Keep doing you and being amazing.”
Former BBC Breakfast host Dan Walker echoed: “What a lovely post. Good on you, big man.” A fourth penned: “Bernie, it was a pleasure working with you. Always in good spirits, a walking football encyclopaedia, and a good egg through and through. ITV won’t be quite the same without you.”
GMB presenter Charlotte paid tribute with a simple heart emoji in the comment section.
His exit comes at a similar time to Andrew Pierce’s. Andrew, who often appeared as a panellist on the programme, confirmed in recent days that he was leaving the show in a sad statement on social media after 10 years.
