NINE Emmerdale favourites have been left fighting for their lives in tonight’s bombshell episode.

The ITV soap has pulled out all the stops for a dramatic stunt which sees a limo full of beloved characters crash onto an icy lake.

In today’s episode two groups from the village headed out in limos for separate boys and girls nights out for Valentine’s Day.

However with Dr Liam Cavanagh planning to propose to girlfriend Chas Dingle, he swapped places with Mandy Dingle and climbed into the girls’ limo.

“I know we haven’t known each other very long and we’re different,” he said to an oblivious Chas.

“Very different. Polar opposites in fact… But you are the yin to my yang, the ping to my pong.

“Will you shut me up and make me the happiest man alive? Marry me?”

But before anyone could answer Charity gasped and the limo veered off the road.

Meanwhile at the same time in the boys’ limo, Caleb Miligan decided speeding through dark country lanes was the perfect time to confront his brother Cain about sleeping with his wife.

Furious Caleb sped the car up as the others begged him to stop.

But as Cain insisted he would explain everything, they appeared to crash too.

However it has already been revealed that the girls’ limo hits the icy lake.

And with the car teetering on the ice and beginning to sink, nine favourites face the fight of their lives to survive.

But not all will make it out alive.

A flash forward last month revealed at least one person will d!e – with them desperately banging from beneath the icy lake.
