Pat Mahomes Snr and John Rocker had an altercation on Bourbon Street

Former MLB players Pat Mahomes and John Rocker had a heated altercation in Bourbon Street ahead of Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans.

Both Rocker and Mahomes were in Louisiana for the NFL championship game, which saw the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22. Mahomes Sr., the father of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, was unhappy when being greeted by Rocker – and their altercation almost turned physical.

A video has emerged on social media showing Rocker approaching Mahomes Sr. and attempting to shake his hand, but his former MLB rival was in no mood to catch up. The pair then had to be separated, and Rocker has since reposted the video and wrote: “This f—— loser can’t take a damn joke. Wish I laid him out right there and ruined his bulls— weekend even more.”

Mahomes and Rocker were MLB rivals for five years between 1998-2003, but they seemingly still dislike each other. Rocker made several anti-Chiefs posts on social media during the Super Bowl after his verbal altercation with Mahomes Sr.

During the championship game, Rocker posted on X: “Patrick Mahomes’ hair looks like overgrown pubes.” The former MLB pitcher also called the Chiefs quarterback “overrated” and said: “Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce should be ashamed of themselves. This is what happens to egotistical p—–.”

After the video was posted on social media, Rocker and Mahomes Sr. started beefing online. “You really haven’t changed one bit in the last 25 years. Keep my name out your loud mouth,” the latter replied after Rocker called him a loser.

“You wouldn’t have had the balls to say that to my face the other night. Lanky a– clown,” Rocker fired back, before once again calling out his son. “F— Patrick Mahomes,” Rocker went on to post, targeting the Chiefs quarterback.

The video from New Orleans was also shared by Barstool Sports, and founder Dave Portnoy has claimed that Rocker and Mahomes are set to fight in a boxing match. Portnoy told the Daily Mail that Rocker and Mahomes have signed a contract to fight at the next ‘Rough N’ Rowdy’ – a Barstool event.

“I think it is! I believe we have a signed agreement for Mahomes Sr to fight John Rocker at Rough N Rowdy,” Portnoy said. “I think it’s 100%, but I haven’t seen the signed paperwork yet.”

It’s unknown whether this is a publicity stunt or genuine beef, but the entire situation has caught fans off guard. Should a boxing match occur, both Mahomes and Rocker are listed as 6-foot-4, but the latter has a much larger frame.
