The View, which features Whoppi hosting alongside, Joy Behar, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro, Sunny Hostin, and Alyssa Farah Griffin, airs on ABC, which Disney owns.
According to recent media reports, the women have been asked to tone down their political rhetoric, especially regarding President Donald Trump.
Their political conversations have even seemed to have caught the attention, and ire, of Disney CEO Bob Iger and ABC News President Almin Karamehmedovic, according to The Daily Beast.
It got to the point where Karamehmedovic held a meeting with The View‘s executive producer Brian Teta and the hosts, the outlet reported.
He reportedly asked them to widen their conversation topics beyond politics.
He is said to have pointed out recent episodes that featured celebrity interviews with high ratings, which he suggested should be their focus moving forward.
While The Daily Beast report said the meeting was more to provide general advice rather than official orders to The View team, the hosts were left unimpressed.
“‘This is what our audience wants. Isn’t it gonna look kind of bad if we’re all of a sudden not talking about politics?’” a The View insider told the outlet was said during the meeting.
The insider said the women felt the suggestions were “silly” and they had every intention to “just going to keep doing their thing,” according to The Daily Beast
But the conversation did not end there, because sources reported that Ana approached Iger the following week at the annual Disney’s Upfront convention for advertisers.

She reportedly thanked him for his support of The View, but Iger said while he did back the show, he still wanted them to scale back their political conversations.
Neither ABC nor Disney immediately responded to a request for comment.
Iger’s reported trepidation about The View’s political comments comes just months after Disney forked out $15 million to Trump’s presidential library and $1 million for his legal fees.
Disney was forced to pay the amount after Trump successfully sued ABC News and Good Morning America anchor George Stephanopoulos over a March interview with South Carolina Republican Representative Nancy Mace on This Week.
Trump said the interview incorrectly characterized him as being liable for rape.
The View is no stranger to fiery political discussions and having major politicians as guests.
Their most recent was former President Joe Biden, who decried Trump’s first 100 days in office.
