Dylan Dreyer has temporarily traded the TODAY studio for the Seine.
How to Watch
Watch TODAY weekdays at 7AM ET on NBC.
On Monday, March 17, viewers for the third-hour of TODAY were greeted by usual co-hosts Al Roker and Craig Melvin, along with Saturday TODAY co-anchor Laura Jarrett — but missing from the St. Patrick’s Day celebrations was Dreyer.
Dylan Dreyer is in Paris working on a “really cool story” for TODAY
It turns out Dreyer has a good excuse for missing TODAY — she’s in Paris, France… for work! In an Instragram post from March 16, Dreyer posted a carousel of images of her on the streets of Paris, at the Louvre Pyramid and the Arc de Triomphe, two of the most iconic landmarks in the City of Lights.
“All work and no play. No, I mean all play and no work. Wait, some play lots of work. Actually, lots of play and work,” she wrote in the caption. “Either way, I’m in France for work. Really cool story coming soon!!” Since she tagged TODAY in the photos, it’s safe to assume the assignment is for the morning news program, and not her nature travel show, Earth Odyssey.

The TODAY co-hosts did not mention how long Dreyer would be absent from the show, but on the Monday, March 16 program Jarrett did tell Roker that she was going to be co-hosting all week.
Dreyer recently missed the Friday, March 7 edition of the third hour of TODAY, but fans were treated to an extra special guest co-host when Melvin’s wife, sportscaster Lindsay Czarniak, joined Roker and Melvin at the Hosts desk.
“Happy Fri-yay, and welcome to the third hour of TODAY! Speaking of third, I’m kind of the third wheel here because I’ve got Craig and his better half, Lindsay Czarniak,” joked Roker in his introduction.’
During the week of March 10, Melvin was also absent from TODAY for two days — March 11 and 12 — when he was sick with the flu.
“I had the flu for a couple days, but I took one of these little pills… Not only do I feel better, I actually feel better than I did before I got the flu. Got some rest too,” revealed Melvin when he returned to TODAY on Friday, March 13.
