Eagles star wide receiver A.J. Brown conceded that the excitement and joy that came from blowing out the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX has already worn off

It hasn’t taken long for the excitement of winning a Super Bowl to wear off for Philadelphia Eagles star wide receiver A.J. Brown.
On Sunday, the Eagles made quick work of the Chiefs during a 40-22 rout of Kansas City in Super Bowl LIX. Brown turned in a modest stat line during the blowout victory – reeling in three catches for 43 yards on five targets – while additionally recording a receiving touchdown.
With just under two minutes remaining in the second quarter, Brown reeled in a short pass from quarterback Jalen Hurts before tiptoing along the sideline and into the end zone for a 12-yard score. The pivotal touchdown gave the Eagles a commanding 24-0 lead entering halftime – all-but squandering the Chiefs’ longshot hope of staging a comeback.
When the dust had finally settled on Super Bowl LIX – and the ensuing celebrations that transpired in the immediate aftermath of the Big Game – Brown conceded that the entire experience left him wanting more.
“After a few days, I’ve had time to reflect on being a champion. I tried to feel how everyone made it seem to be a champion and unfortunately it was short lived. two days to be exact lol,” he wrote in a lengthy Instagram post.
“I’ve never been a champion at the highest level before but I thought my hard work would be justified by winning it all. It wasn’t. My thrill for this game comes when i dominate. It’s the Hunt that does it for me. It’s when the Db drops his head and surrender because he can’t F with me. The Intense battles. Early mornings. Late nights. Sacrifices.”

Though Brown relished the opportunity to bring a Super Bowl to Philadelphia, the 27-year-old recognized that the actual journey to the Big Game was what he enjoyed most. “I love putting smiles on peoples faces, don’t get me wrong but it just wasn’t what I thought it would be,” he added. “It’s the journey that I love the most. BACK 2 Work!”
Speaking to ESPN on the heels of Sunday’s win, Brown thanked Eagles fans for their continued support throughout the rollercoaster 2024-45 campaign. “They [are] yelling at you on the sideline if you don’t play good. They’re very passionate, the love, the support. You know, I got fans with a whole book club section over there,” he said.
“I’m just so glad that we could get it done for this city of Philadelphia. This is home, this is the best place in the world. Philadelphia, we can’t wait to get back to celebrate. This is very special.”
Looking back on the trade that sent him to Philadelphia – the Tennessee Titans dealt Brown to the Eagles on draft night in exchange for the No. 18 overall pick and a third round selection in April of 2022 – he added: “This is what I came for. The conversations that we talked about, was for moments like this. And I’m glad it paid off”
“We all love each other, we celebrate each other and we push each other, most importantly.”
