The 20th series of Taskmaster may have just come to an end, but fans don’t have to wait very long for their next helping of the show. The Channel 4 programme is returning for a brand-new special over New Year – and the full line-up has been released.

The new quintet will be taking part in a special double episode of Taskmaster’s New Year Treat as they battle it out to win Greg Davies’s coveted Golden Eyebrows trophy.

Joining the line-up this year is former EastEnders star Rose Ayling-Ellis. As a previous winner of Strictly Come Dancing, she’s used to taking the trophy when it comes to reality TV. She’ll be joined by former footballer Jill Scott, who also isn’t a stranger to winning reality TV, as she took the Queen of the Jungle title after taking part in I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here.

Lexicographer and Countdown legend Susie Dent will also be part of the show, as will TV chef and musician Big Zuu. The line-up is completed by singer/songwriter, and Eurovision golden boy, Sam Ryder.

Each contestant will be battling it out in a different number of tasks, with Greg Davies scoring their efforts and Alex Horne diligently keeping track of proceedings.

Fans can also look forward to a brand new helping of Taskmaster: Champion Of Champions, which is back for a fourth special.

Recent winner Maisie Adam will join the previous victors from series 16 onward, Andy Zaltzman, John Robins, Mathew Baynton, and Sam Campbell.

The one-off special sees them return and take on another hilarious set of tasks to try to win the ultimate prize – the golden body of Greg Davies.

Horrible Histories and Ghosts star Mathew Baynton recently admitted he only wanted to win the show so he could come back for Champion of Champions.

“I did start thinking, ‘Oh, it would be really nice [to win]’, because winning means a repeat of the experience,” he said. “The number one thing about winning is thinking, ‘Oh, great, I get to go back’.”
