Adark new fan theory has predicted that Sarah Sugden could die at Christmas, following this week’s devastating cancer diagnosis. A doctor broke the news last night (Thursday, May 29) that Sarah has cervical cancer.
As she reeled in shock, the doctor explained how she would need surgery to remove her cervix. Outside, she bumped into Jacob, and grew worried at the sight of her looking upset in the waiting room. Breaking down in his arms, she revealed that she’d been diagnosed with cancer.
Devastating news for Sarah – and fans think this means that she might be living on borrowed time.

Writing on X, one fan shared their thoughts on what might happen next. And, if this theory is to be believed, then a tragic Christmas for the Dingles is in store.

Meanwhile, others were confused by the lack of a support system in Sarah’s life. Keeping her trip to the hospital a secret for now, Jacob is her only confidante.
“None of Sarah’s parents are there. Where the hell is Andy? And Debbie was never interested,” wrote one fan.
“Robert Sugden is back. Now Emmerdale writers, can we please get some scenes with Sarah Sugden! You know the Neice of Victoria and Robert. Abandoned by Debbie. Andy cant be bothered. At least remember Sarah is a sugden! I want the sugden scenes with sarah,” begged another.
Sadly, with Debbie having recently moved to Australia, a return from her mother is looking increasingly unlikely…
