Nationwide — Brianna Cry recently surprised her grandparents with a trip to Paris. A video capturing their emotional reaction has since gone viral, touching thousands online.
In the video posted on TikTok, Brianna first hands her grandparents a card with a heartfelt message. Her grandfather tears up immediately, even before her grandmother finishes reading the note. When they realize the surprise is a trip to Paris, they are visibly overwhelmed with emotion. The video has garnered over 600,000 views.
Brianna said she planned the trip as a way to thank her grandparents, who adopted and raised her. After years of schooling and finally earning an income, she decided to make her first big purchase a meaningful gift for her grandparents to give back to them.
“My grandparents have done so much for me over the years and I knew when I began working that my first big purchase would be for them,” Brianna told People.
Paris was a particularly special choice for her grandmother, who had long dreamed of visiting the city. Coincidentally, just a day before the surprise, her grandmother mentioned plans to visit the city in 2026, unaware that Brianna had already booked the trip.
Brianna said, “I am beyond blessed and grateful to them for providing me with the love, support, education, and experiences that can even allow for me to give back in this way.”
Their itinerary includes iconic landmarks like the Louvre and the Palace of Versailles. Brianna and her grandmother also share a love for the arts, so they plan to attend a ballet at the Palais Garnier.
“I am so excited for this trip and I know it’ll be the best one yet because I get to spend it with them,” she added.
