Colin Cowherd is getting slammed by fans online following a curious claim about Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott.
Dak and the Cowboys have had a difficult 2024 season, with the QB out since early November. They are set to miss the playoffs but will hope to give a better account of themselves in 2025 after making the signal-caller the highest-paid player in the NFL ahead of the 2024 campaign.
Cowherd, who is hardly the biggest Dak fan, had some unflattering words for the Dallas star, claiming he has never had a year such as the one Sam Darnold is having with the Vikings.
“Has Dak ever had a year that looks like Darnold? Not to me,” the FS1 analyst noted.
Take a listen below:
Considering that Dak only just finished second in the MVP voting last season after throwing for 4,516 yards, 36 touchdowns, and just nine interceptions, Cowherd wouldn’t have to look that far back.
“He literally had the same season last year, wtf is this dope talking about,” a fan asked.
“This guy wanted to trade draft picks for Ohtani last year. He doesn’t know a thing about sports,” another declared.
Prescott also helped the Cowboys win the NFC East, though they shockingly lost to the Green Bay Packers in the first round.
Meanwhile, Darnold is having the best year of his career, having thrown for 4,153 yards, 35 touchdowns, and 12 INTs so far.
The Vikings will play the Detroit Lions for the NFC’s top seed this Sunday, with both teams boasting 14-2 records. Still, the losing team will finish as the No. 5 seed and will have to start the postseason on the road.
