BREAKING NEWS: “TOP PERFORMER” becomes a Global Trending Keyword – all eyes on Caitlin Clark!
There was no better way for Caitlin Clark to announce her return from injury than by turning in an awe-inspiring performance against the defending champions, the New York Liberty.
Well, that’s exactly what she did on Saturday night as the former Iowa superstar led the Indiana Fever to a 102-88 statement win to hand Sabrina Ionescu and Co. their first loss of the season.
Clark showed no signs of rust after missing her team’s last five games due to a quad injury. The 23-year-old went off for a season-high 32 points on 11-of-20 shooting–including a 25-point explosion in the first half.
For good measure, Clark also added eight rebounds, nine assists, a steal and two blocks, while also knocking down seven triples in their big win against the champs.

This is exactly why it came as no surprise that the WNBA named Clark as the game’s Top Performer. The league took to social media on Saturday night to announce the news.
In the same post, the WNBA also announced Napheesa Collier as the Top Performer in the Minnesota Lynx’s blowout win against the Los Angeles Sparks, as well as Kayla Thornton of the Golden State Valkyries after their victory against the Seattle Storm.
There is no doubt, however, that it was Clark who grabbed headlines on Saturday after her incredible performance. The fans missed seeing the reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year in action during her five-game injury spell, and Clark made sure to make up for lost time.
Up next for the Fever is a matchup against the Connecticut Sun on Tuesday night 7 p.m. ET and Clark is fully expected to keep her foot on the gas for that one.
