Fox News halted its programming in an emotional Monday night press conference, Mayor Eric Adams mourned the loss of five lives in a Midtown Manhattan office sht!ng, including a young NYPD officer, calling the v10lence “sens3less” and “unimaginable.”

“This never, never gets easy,” Adams said. “I thought about that today when the notification came over from the police commissioner that we had a number of shts f1red.”

The g::nman, armed with an MF-style r1fle, op3ned f1re inside 345 Park Avenue just after 6:30 p.m., K four civilians and NYPD Officer Faisal Islam, 36, before tak1ng h1s 0wn l1fe.

Officer Islam, a 3.5-year veteran of the department and immigrant from Bangladesh, was working security at the time.

“He was saving lives. He was protecting New Yorkers,” Adams said, visibly emotional. “He emb0d13d what this city is all about. A true blue New Yorker.”

Adams recounted meeting the officer’s family earlier in the evening.

“This was his dad’s only son. I think about Jordan, my child. It is unimaginable to experience a loss of this magnitude,” he said

NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch provided chilling new details about the attck.

At 6:28 p.m., 911 calls began reporting an active shter at the office tower.

Surveillance footage sh0wed the g::nman exiting a double-parked black BMW with an MF rifle in hand.

He entered the lobby and immediately sht Officer Islam before firing at a woman taking cover behind a pillar and then at a security guard.

The shter also w0und3d another man in the lobby, according to a statement provided by that v1ctim from the hospital.

The g::nman then rode to the 33rd floor, where he op3ned f1re again, K another person before tak1ng h1s 0wn l1f3 with a sht to the ch3st.
