Country singer Reba McEntire sh0cked by news of son Brandon Blackstock’s D3ath – Fans heartbroken and surprised as relationship revealed!

Kelly Clarkson’s ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, has passed away at the age of 48, leaving behind an extended family.

The talent manager d13d following a three-year battle with an undisclosed cancer, as he succumbed to the illness just hours after Kelly cancelled a scheduled show, citing Brandon’s ill health as the reason.

Brandon’s family confirmed in a statement, “It is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has passed away. Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years. He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family. We thank you for your thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the family’s privacy during this very difficult time.”

He shared two children with Kelly, daughter River, 11, and son Remy, nine.

Brandon was also dad to two children from his first marriage to Melissa Atworth, daughter Savannah and son Seth.

Brandon also became a grandfather in 2022 when Savannah welcomed her first child.

He was also related to country singer Reba McEntire, who was in fact his stepmom for several years.

Reba was married to Brandon’s dad, Narvel Blackstock, from 1989 to 2015.

While Reba and Narvel’s marriage came to a bitter end with a prolific divorce battle – much like Kelly and Brandon’s – she appeared to remain supportive of her stepson.

In 2021, at the height of their divorce woes, Reba told Extra, “You know, I love them both … Brandon’s my stepson; Kelly’s my good friend, and I’m pulling for both of them. I hope they’re happy and healthy and pull through this.”

Just hours before Brandon’s d3ath was announced, Kelly postponed her Las Vegas residency and thanked fans for their “grace, kindness, and understanding.” She said, “While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children’s father has been ill, and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them.”

Kelly famously wrote her hit track Piece by Piece about Brandon when they were married.

She delivered an emotional performance of the release on American Idol in 2015, where she fought back tears as she sang the song, which highlighted how her own father had abandoned her, but her then-husband had shown her what a man and a father should be.

Kelly and Brandon first met at a rehearsal for the Academy of Country Music Awards in May 2006, when his father was her manager.

The pair married in 2013, but Kelly filed for divorce seven years later in 2020.
