Viewers of America’s Newsroom were thrilled to witness Dana Perino’s return to their television screens.
The Fox News reporter co-anchors the morning show alongside Bill Hemmer but had been absent for an extended period, though on Monday, July 28, she came back from her break. Dana took over hosting responsibilities with Bill Melugin, who was filling in for Hemmer.
Supporters had observed her time away and were eagerly awaiting her comeback. A follower commented on her Instagram photo featuring her dog, Percy: “Will you please come back to work! Miss you so dang much! I so look forward to you every day ! You are my favorite FOX person! Love you so! Glad you are having fun! Hey Percy!”.
On X, previously known as Twitter, viewers responded to Dana’s return from her time off and reappearance on television. One individual posted: “OMG. Dana Perino is at work today! It’s a miracle. The morning show should be Bill Hemmer, who also takes way too many days off, and Bill Melugin. Why the big secret of Perino’s vacations?”
Another viewer praised the American political analyst, writing: “Great reporting and great job with Dana Perino this morning on America’s Newsroom.”, reports the Irish Star.

Dana had earlier revealed her vacation plans during a live broadcast of America’s Newsroom.
Hemmer also reminded audiences of her absence and the reason. Dana joined Fox News in 2009 as a contributor after departing the White House.
Dana previously served as White House press secretary for George W. Bush from September 14, 2007, to January 20, 2009. She became the first woman to hold the press secretary role under a Republican president.

She was also just the second woman in history to serve as White House press secretary.
During her tenure as Bush’s secretary, she sustained a black eye in the chaos that ensued when Iraqi journalist Muntadhar al-Zaidi hurled shoes at Bush during a Baghdad press conference in December 2008.
The journalist yelled at Bush while launching the footwear, “This is a farewell kiss from the Iraqi people, you dog.”
Prior to Dana’s White House departure and decision to join Fox, she received a nomination from former President Barack Obama to serve on the Broadcasting Board of Governors.
Dana has been wed to English businessman Peter McMahon since 1998.
