Former CNN anchor Don Lemon has told Megyn Kelly to ”go f–k yourself’ after she criticized Joy Reid for celebrating her show being axed by MSNBC and called her the “absolute worst person on television.”

The anchor’s The ReidOut’s show was cancelled by the network after a dramatic drop in ratings. And Joy is expected to host her final show on MSNBC next week.

After the announcement was made Kelly mocked her on her X account, and claimed she made previous remarks about ”white womens tears”, saying: “Remember when Joy Reid laughingly mocked ‘white women tears’ as pathetic and offensive to her? Who’s crying now, Joy? Who’s crying now, Joy? Good riddance to the absolute worst person on television, and shame on NBC for letting it go on this long.”

Responding to her outbust in an Instagram clip, the former CNN host said: “Let me just say this to Megyn Kelly, in my 30-some years as a journalist and my 50-some years as a person of color: Go f— yourself, okay?” He also called Kelly a “troll” and a “racist,” as well as rebuking her claim that Reid attacked white woman on her show and mocked white women’s tears.

He also referenced Kelly’s morning show, Megyn Kelly Today being cancelled in 2019 after she sparked controversy by making comments about wearing blackface as part of a Halloween costume debate. Lemon said: “No, the worst person on television was fired from NBC and the ‘Today’ show a few years ago, and that’s Megyn Kelly! That’s the worst person who’s not on television anymore. It’s you! So, hoorah for that. NBC did something good with that.”

He also read a series of article headlines starting with Megyn Kelly calls out…, in stories where she criticized a string of women including Selena Gomez, Tiffany Cross and Caitlan Clark.. He added: “And then she is supposed to be a big supporter of women, remember that, right?.”

Lemon also shared a clip of Kelly discussing his former CNN colleague Kaitlan Collins. In it she responds to a viral clip of Collins. In it she slammed the star, saying: ”I will submit for the record that her biggest sin is not that she is biased, though she is, it’s that she is boring. She’s extremely boring with no personality. I have a pro tip for her: Try smiling every once in a while. Try not to be like, in your delivery, such a cold-hearted b—- all the time because it gives people nothing to bond to.”

Lemon asked “Was that really necessary?”. He added: “And how is that supportive of women? Now, she could’ve given some advice and said, ‘Hey, you need to somehow establish a bond or connection with your audience.’ She doesn’t have to call the woman a ‘B.’”

Lemon also shared clips of Kelly’s past remarks about Santa Claus and blackflace from her time working for Fox News and NBC. He claimed they were “evidence” of her being a “racist” and “troll”, adding: “I was actually friendly with Megyn Kelly, and then, when people show you who they are, you better f—— believe it, because we should’ve known.”
