Gwyneth Paltrow recently shared her candid thoughts on Meghan Markle amidst the buzz surrounding the Duchess’s latest Netflix series, With Love, Meghan.
Meghan has come under fire from critics following her series premiere, yet Gwyneth remains unfazed by any comparison to her own lifestyle empire, Goop, despite both being neighbors in California. In the eight-part Netflix series, Meghan invites viewers into her world, offering a peek at her beloved recipes and providing some private glimpses of life with Prince Harry and their kids, Archie and Lilibet.
Through it all, Gwyneth appears supportive and is even keen on befriending the couple who famously quit Royal life in 2020 for a self-sufficient existence across the pond.
“I don’t know Meghan and Harry,” Gwyneth confessed during a recent interview. Although she has encountered the Duchess—whom she finds “really lovely”—their acquaintance is limited.

“I mean, I’ve met Meghan, who seems really lovely, but I don’t know her at all. Maybe I’ll try to get through their security detail and bring them a pie,” Gwyneth shared.
Admitting she hasn’t watched With Love, Meghan yet, the Avengers actress made it clear that there’s no rivalry between her and the Duchess, leaving room for a potential friendship to bloom in the California sun.
Gwyneth Paltrow expressed her natural tendency to defend other women in a recent Vanity Fair interview, stating “I was raised to see other women as friends, not foes,” owing to the culture they navigate. Despite this support, Meghan’s new series has faced intense criticism, reportedly leaving her feeling “devastated and hurt” by the harsh response.
An insider confided to RadarOnline that the Duchess had high hopes for her show to be her comeback, likening it to Martha Stewart’s empire, but now faces “entirely crushed” spirits and humiliation. “She had truly believed that this show could catapult her to the same heights as Martha Stewart, offering a fresh start for her career and an image overhaul. Now, though, she’s feeling entirely crushed, the humiliation still fresh.”
The source went on to reveal Meghan’s shock at the extent of negativity: “While she was prepared for a little negativity, the overwhelming backlash has left her reeling. To everyone watching, she might appear to be putting on a brave face, especially since her show made it to the top 10 for a few days.”
Notwithstanding the public scrutiny, Meghan seems to be seeking solace in creating a tight-knit circle within her Montecito community. She told People magazine, “I have a couple of girlfriends up here – these are stay-at-home moms and working women with normal jobs, not in the public eye. We went from just connecting through our kids to having girls’ nights out or doing Pilates together.”
Despite her global fame since marrying into the Royal Family, Meghan doesn’t shy away from public workouts; she’s often found in bustling yoga classes among other women.

She shared that she doesn’t put on airs when attending gym classes and is happy to go solo if friends can’t join her, quickly making connections with fellow gym-goers. The duchess also spoke about her life in Santa Barbara, expressing how she and her family have been warmly received by the community.
One mom was astonished when her kids made friends with Archie at school, leading to a voicemail from Meghan herself proposing a playdate for their children – a casual gesture despite Archie’s Royal status. Reflecting on her experiences, Meghan commented: “I appreciate everyone who gave me the grace to make mistakes and figure it out and also to be forgiving with myself through that. It’s a learning curve.”
