Latest report by Lawrence Jones (Fox News) sends “CHILLS” to viewers with sh0cking numbers!
After a dangerous flood at Camp Mystic, around 200 people were rescued thanks to the extraordinary effort of an unsung hero: Petty Officer Scott Ruskin, a member of the U.S. Coast Guard. In an interview with Lawrence Jones (Fox News), Scott said: “We struggled with bad weather for 5–6 hours before reaching the scene. I decided to stay on the ground rather than get on the helicopter so I could help more people.”
At the site, it was a scene of panic and exhaustion: many young children and camp counselors were terrified and shivering from the cold. “I tried to be the voice of calm, to coordinate and get them to safety,” Scott shared. Remarkably, this was the first rescue mission of his career, and he was also the only triage coordinator on site.
When Lawrence Jones asked about the dangerous water, Scott admitted: “Even as a professional rescuer, I was scared to get into the water. I can’t imagine how it felt for those 8, 9, 10-year-old kids.” He praised the camp counselors who had already saved lives before rescue crews arrived.
“I’m only 26. I thought: what if it were my family? I had to do my best to help them,” Scott said emotionally.
At the end, the host Lawrence Jones called Scott an “American hero,” but he humbly replied: “I was just doing my job.”
