NEVER BEFORE has the Chiefs’ POWER been DOUBTED this much – Can the New Additions truly complement the Force of Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce?Chiefs great calls out Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce over outbursts: 'Acting like spoiled little brats' | Fox NewsThe Kansas City Chiefs have turned the page on February’s disappointment and are shifting their full attention to the new NFL season.

As the offseason rolls on, Kansas City’s push for redemption is underway, with quarterback Patrick Mahomes already back in action and setting the tone during the team’s latest round of Organized Team Activities (OTAs).

Monday marked the start of the Chiefs‘ second OTA session, held at their training facility, and Mahomes‘ presence stood out.

The two-time NFL MVP participated in the voluntary workouts and also took to social media to share a glimpse of the grind. Rather than adding commentary, Mahomes let the image speak for itself, simply uploading a photo of himself from the session on his Instagram Stories. It was a quiet but powerful signal: he’s locked in.

This marks Mahomes‘ first return to team-focused activity since his appearance at the “Big Slick Celebrity Weekend” event, a popular Kansas City fundraiser benefiting Children’s Mercy Hospital. Mahomes and longtime teammate Travis Kelce headlined the charity weekend, which also featured notable guests like Paul RuddJason Sudeikis, and Patrick Mahomes‘ brother-in-arms, Jason Kelce.

No Travis Kelce at OTAs

While Mahomes was back on the practice field Monday, one major name was missing-tight end Travis Kelce. The 10-time Pro Bowl star, who also attended the Big Slick event over the weekend, was absent during the team’s voluntary session.

Kelce‘s nonappearance immediately sparked buzz among fans, though there’s no indication it signals anything serious. Given the voluntary nature of OTAs, it’s not uncommon for veterans to manage their attendance strategically.

There’s still a strong possibility Kelce will join his teammates later in the week, either on Tuesday or Wednesday. It’s also worth noting that both Mahomes and Kelce were present at the Chiefs’ first OTA session last week, affirming their commitment to staying in rhythm with the team’s preparation.

The Chiefs‘ shot at NFL immortality was thwarted in February, when the Philadelphia Eagles spoiled their dream of a three-peat with a 40-22 victory. The defeat marked a brutal end to what could have been a historic run for Mahomes, Kelce, and head coach Andy Reid.
