SH0CKING Family Secrets REVEALED – Adam Henson, 59, of Countryfile – audience overwhelmed by WEDDING held 1 DAY before wife Charlotte’s L1FE-SΛVING suɾgeɾy!
Adam Henson has been a familiar presence on our television screens for over two decades through his role on Countryfile. The 59 year old has been offering advice and animal expertise from his Cotswold Farm Park in Gloucestershire since 2001.
The agriculturalist has also featured on numerous BBC shows including Gardeners’ World, Springtime on the Farm and Lambing Live, becoming a beloved figure to many viewers.
Adam was motivated by his father to pursue both farming and television, previously recounting his father’s steadfast encouragement, remembering how Joe would invariably phone following each broadcast to either praise him or provide helpful feedback.
Beyond the cameras, the TV personality cherishes spending precious moments with his wife Charlotte, and the pair have been partners since their teenage years. They are parents to two grown-up children, Alfie and Ella.
Adam has previously disclosed his desire for his offspring to experience a childhood similar to his own and assume active responsibilities in the farm’s day-to-day operations, reports Gloucestershire Live.

His spouse, lovingly nicknamed “Charlie”, received a stage one pancreatic cnc3r diagnosis after becoming unwell during Christmas 2020. Adam wed Charlotte in an intimate ceremony with close relatives during the Covid-19 pandemic, just one day before her crucial surg3ry.
In an emotional interview with the Mirror in October 2023, Adam shared: “We cried a lot. Those vows cemented my emotions and let me say from the heart how I feel about Charlie. The registrar wasn’t aware of our situation and said she’d never had such an emotional couple. For us, it was a way of saying goodbye to everyone.”
Charlie also spoke up during the interview, stating: “It was a horrible position to put everyone in because you’re trying to be happy, but I was going into hospital the next day and didn’t know if I’d be coming out. It was the best possible last day I could have had.”

Miraculously, the high-stakes surg3ry turned out to be successful, and two years on from their harrowing experience, the couple has shared that Charlie is back at work part-time, living life between six-monthly scans.
Joseph Leslie “Joe” Henson, Adam’s father, was a renowned farmer and television presenter, gracing BBC programmes like Animal Magic and In The Country, as well as founding the Rare Breeds Survival Trust.
Joe launched Cotswold Farm Park to the public in 1971, championing the conservation of rare animal breeds.
His dedication to animals and conservation earned him an MBE in the 2011 Queen’s Birthday Honours.

Adam fondly remembers his father as a “TV natural” and a “fantastic storyteller”. They even collaborated on Countryfile after Adam landed the presenting role, with Adam noting that “the producers and directors loved him”.
The agricultural expert shared: “He was also my biggest supporter and always rang after the programme to congratulate me or offer gentle pointers.”
Sadly, Joe passed away in 2015 at the age of 82 after a battle with cnc3r.
Reflecting on the painful loss of his father the subsequent year, Adam reflected: “It’s devastating for anybody to lose a parent, but my relationship with Dad was particularly close.”
He continued: “Right from my first days, he was my rock, my mentor, my hero. It’s no exaggeration to say he taught me virtually all I know about farming and television.”

Adam’s grandfather, who was Joe’s father, was also a well-known figure as he was British actor and comedian Leslie Henson.
Adam is the nephew of TV actor Nicky Henson, who had featured in an array of popular shows, including: Inspector Morse, Lovejoy, and Fawlty Towers.
In 2006, Nicky appeared in EastEnders as Jack Edwards, the father of established character Honey Mitchell (Emma Barton).
Jack made his entrance in Walford for his daughter’s wedding to Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick) and even had a fleeting romance with Peggy Mitchell (Barbara Windsor).
In May 2010, Billy is informed that Honey and Jack have been involved in a car accident and Jack has d13d.

During a conversation with Minerva magazine, Adam fondly recalled mingling with celebrities who visited the farm due to his dad’s media work, and discussed his uncle Nicky.
Adam recounted: “My dad used to work on the telly with Johnny Morris on Animal Magic and a program called In The Country with Angela Rippon.
“So the telly wasn’t alien for me. And my uncle was a famous actor, Nicky Henson. So we used to have celebrities coming to the farm.”
Tragically, Nicky Henson d13d in 2019 after a prolonged fight with cnc3r.
