Vacations are all about relaxation, sunshine, and maybe an unexpected reunion — just ask Savannah Guthrie.
The 53-year-old broadcast journalist took a break from the morning grind for a family trip to Palm Beach, Florida, and ended up with a “bonus” feature — a cameo from none other than her former Today co-anchor Hoda Kotb.

Sharing the moment on Tuesday, February 18 via Instagram, Guthrie posted a selfie with her longtime pal. “Oh and a bonus @hodakotb sighting for a little extra ☀️,” she captioned the post. Kotb’s husband, Michael Feldman, was also in the shot, along with a few of Kotb’s friends.
Fans couldn’t get enough of the surprise meetup.
“Omg yessss favorite ladies 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍,” one person swooned.
“Miss you Hoda! Not the same show without you!” another wrote.
“You guys look amazing 😍,” chimed in a third.
“oh I know that was ONE EPIC HUG!!” someone else pointed out.
“Tooooo much fun’ We’re missing you guys together! Fun times, create memories and thank you for sharing,” added another.
Kotb, 60, stepped away from Today in January after 17 years, choosing to spend more time with her daughters, Haley, 8, and Hope, 5. She’s been soaking up family time ever since, sharing glimpses of her new routine, including a fishing trip with her girls earlier this week.
“Wait… whaaaattt— each of my girls caught a fish today!! #wow threw em back— but what a thrill!” the proud mom wrote on Monday, February 17 via Instagram, alongside a video of the trio reeling in their catch.
Meanwhile, Guthrie is still holding down the fort at NBC — this time with a new co-anchor by her side. After Kotb’s departure, Craig Melvin stepped into the role, officially joining Guthrie as Today‘s main co-host on Monday, January 13.
“I am beyond excited and grateful,” Melvin, 45, said on the morning broadcast when his promotion was announced in November 2024. “This is the latest in a long line of blessings.” Kotb, for her part, gave her stamp of approval on the transition, calling Melvin “literally made for this job.”
While Melvin has taken over Kotb’s spot, he’s still balancing his longtime hosting duties on Today‘s third hour alongside Al Roker, Dylan Dreyer, and Sheinelle Jones.
Jenna Bush Hager has yet to find a permanent co-host following Kotb’s departure, but for now, a rotating lineup of celebrity guests is filling the seat.
