The touching story behind “the most Special Gift in Fox News host Lawrence Jones’s career” brings Tears to Fans’ Eyes!
On September 17, 2022, Lawrence Jones, the rising Fox News host, introduced the world to his dog, Nala. “People instantly adored her,” he captioned as he shared her photos. Since then, Nala’s become a fixture in his social media life.
But Lawrence didn’t truly open up about her until a few months later. In the March 28, 2023, episode of Ride to Work With Abby Hornacek, the Texas-born journalist said emotionally: “Nala has truly been a gift in my life.”
He recounted that while covering a story about a highly decorated canine who worked with elite forces named Raptor, something unexpected happened. “Raptor was a tough one, but wouldn’t leave my side. Then the handler looked at me and said, ‘You seem like you want one of your own.’”
Lawrence replied with a laugh, “If you can find me one related to Raptor, I’ll take it.” On Labor Day, he received a message: “Found her for you, brother.” And there was a photo of Nala.
From that day on, they were inseparable.
Nala is now training with Baden K9 to support veterans coping with emotional recovery, but when off-duty, she enjoys a cozy life with Lawrence.
Meanwhile, “Lawrence Jones Cross Country” ended its run on Sept. 9, 2023. A few days later, Fox News announced his promotion as a permanent co-host of “Fox & Friends”, making him the youngest African-American anchor in cable news history in that role.
“I’m honored to join the show where I made my first national appearance,” he shared. “To inform our viewers each morning is a privilege I don’t take lightly.”
