Top Model quit at her peak? The surprising truth about Fox News host Carley Shimkus!
Carley Shimkus, co-host of Fox & Friends First, once tried modeling thanks to her 5’10” height, but decided to quit and follow her true passion for TV journalism. She grew up in New Jersey with her supportive parents, surrounded by nature.
Before becoming a morning show anchor, Carley worked as an intern, a production assistant, and then associate producer. She met her husband, Peter Buchignani, on her 23rd birthday, and they married in 2015. Despite living apart (New York – Chicago), they kept their love strong and welcomed their son Brock in 2023.
Known at work as “The Foodie,” Carley joined Fox’s cooking segment “Cooking with Friends” and even published a cookbook with recipes from herself and colleagues. Balancing early work hours and family, Carley shared: “I thank God every day for allowing me to now work on the very show I used to watch as a kid.“
Her journey shows how she quit modeling and embraced broadcast journalism, proving that following your heart can lead to unexpected blessings.
