WHAT’S GOING ON? Ben Shephard Gets a Royal Invitation? VIP Guest or Host of a Special Show? Fans Sh0cked by the Truth!
Some 600 people will have woken up to a special invite to the royal wedding today, after Kensington Palace confirmed they were in the post.
And Good Morning Britain host Ben Shepherd had everyone wondering if he was among those lucky enough to make the guest list for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s big day, when he proudly whipped out a gold embossed card on Friday morning’s show.
He smugly waved a gold envelope before revealing what he claimed to be an invite – and it was enough to get his co-hosts Kate Garraway, Charlotte Hawkins and Alex Beresford spluttering in astonishment.
All three scrutinised the calligraphy, which was a close match to the official looking invites revealed by the palace on Thursday.

The real invitations to the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been issued in the name of His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales
Ben, 43, claimed he had been invited to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s May 19 wedding ceremony, which will take place in St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.
The TV host persisted with his claim, reading out the instructions to guests on the stiff piece of card, and leaving Kate outraged.
‘It can’t be real? It must be a fake! They spelt your name right so it must be real,’ she fumed.
She carried on: ‘It must be a fake, it’s on cheap paper – have you really invited Ben Shephard?’
Still in disbelief that Ben had been chosen to attend the wedding, she pleaded to the camera: ‘Prince Charles have you really invited Ben Shephard to your wedding?’

Later Charlotte Hawkins posted an image of the invite to her Twitter page with her own and Kate’s names scrawled in pen.
The caption read: ‘Not sure this is going to get us in..??! @benshephard @kategarraway @GMB #RoyalWedding’
Ben later admitted he had played a joke on his colleagues, explaining: ‘Sorry it’s not a real invite.’
