On Emmerdale, Ross had two brothers, Pete (Anthony Quinlan), Finn (Joe Gill), and his half-brother Adam (Adam Thomas), all of whom had left the soap.
Pete’s exit was slammed by viewers after the character decided that he suddenly had to leave the village.
The scenes – which saw him simply drive away – were blasted by fans who said they were ‘rushed’ after his six-year stint on the soap
He said the memories of all his dead relatives were becoming too much for him and there was nothing left for him.
Their brother Finn previously died in hospital after he was shot in the woods by his mother, Emma (Gillian Kearney).
Fans were left absolutely devastated by the loss of the character after a four-year run.
Finn’s death came as part of an explosive episode that saw Moira (Natalie J.Robb) discharge herself from hospital after learning that Emma had stolen her newborn baby.
Viewers were in shock as she stood on the edge of the viaduct, looking ready to jump after realising she was responsible for her son’s death.
This came after their father James (Bill Ward) was also killed off in dramatic scenes.
In 2016, an epic car crash sequence saw the character thrown off a bridge by his deranged other half Emma.
Although he valiantly fought against her, he was shoved into the road below.
He landed on the windscreen of a car which was being driven by dementia-suffering former vicar Ashley Thomas (John Middleton).
The vehicle car crashed over, and then others followed as the huge disaster struck.
Their uncle John Barton (James Thornton) also died in a road related incident in the long-running ITV soap.
He lost control of Andy Sugden’s (Kelvin Fletcher) Land Rover on some black ice when he was on the way to a celebratory hotel stay with Moira.
The car rolled down a hillside before the vehicle fell down a cliff after Moira was rescued.
Although he underwent surgery in hospital, doctors couldn’t save him as he he later died, surrounded by members of the family.
