Families that Hoda Kotb helped throughout her career showed up and surprised her with flowers and hugs
Hoda, 60, was surprised by people she interviewed years ago.
They either fought cancer or were trying to adopt a child.
She helped all of them by getting a child to adopt for a couple, bringing them comfort, and being there for treatments.
As they talked in a video, Hoda wiped tears away.
The families then surprised her by showing up and giving her flowers.
“It’s too much!” Hoda told her co-hosts.
She was then also surprised with a mural with her daughters’ hands on it, which said, “Right on time,” a quote she often says.
Little Big Town showed up to perform their song, Stay All Night, on the plaza.
Sugarland also performed their biggest hit, Stuck Like Glue.
The bands then teamed up for a duet to sing Phil Collins’ Take Me Home.

Hosts Craig Melvin, Savannah Guthrie, and Al Roker ended the show by toasting Hoda and telling her they loved her.
‘A BIG SMILE’
Devin Still’s daughter, Leah, fought childhood cancer when she was four years old.
Anytime Devin told Leah Hoda was on the phone for her, he said a “big smile” would appear on her face.
Hoda also came to her treatments, and Devin said she “showed up for our family.
Bart Conley, whose wife, Jill, had breast cancer, talked about how nice Hoda was to them during that time, sending video messages to her all the time.
Sadly, Jill lost her battle with breast cancer at only 32 years old.
Frank and Stacey Parrado were looking to adopt a child, and Hoda told them they had a match.
Their now 6-year-old daughter surprised Hoda on Today with a bouquet of flowers.
Hoda could relate to the families because she battled breast cancer in 2007 and adopted her two daughters – Hope and Haley.
HAPPY HODA
Hoda’s real birthday was on Friday, August 9, but she took the day off from Today, after spending two weeks in Paris for the Olympics.
Instead, she stayed home and spent the day with her daughters, mom, Sameha Kotb, and her brother, Adel.
Hope and Haley surprised Hoda with decorations, cards, and gifts.
Hoda shared photos on her Instagram page.
In them, she wore a “Sunshine And Whiskey” T-shirt and casual shorts for the easy morning at home.
The first picture shows her opening a present while her daughters stand by, surrounded by birthday balloons.
Hoda appeared to have received a necklace as she cheered in one photo.
“Great bday morning!! Lucky me xoxoxo,” she captioned the post.
