During his time unconscious, the police wasted no time in launching a formal investigation into the circumstances surrounding the assault. Detective Sergeant Desari, leading the inquiry, initially zeroed in on Billy as the primary suspect, perhaps due to his complicated history and emotional entanglements. The theory gained further traction after Billy’s wife, Dawn, stepped in to provide him with an alibi — although viewers later discovered that her statement was false, raising more questions than answers.
