Back in January, a brief whodunnit culminated in the death of Anthony Fox. After Anthony was beaten up by Aaron, Ruby arrived and finished the job, suffocating her father.

Given that he’d sexually abused her as a child, and it turned out he was Steph’s father all along, Ruby did what she needed to do.

Is Anthony alive?

Given John’s hero syndrome, many fans think there’s a good chance Anthony is still alive.

One fan said: “Anthony is not dead, he will come back,” with another adding “I wouldn’t be surprised if Anthony really is alive.”

A third echoed the sentiment, posting: “Did [John] really bury Anthony or is Anthony still alive?”

Will Anthony return to haunt Steph in Emmerdale?

Prior to his death, Steph and Anthony were close. She didn’t understand why her parents were keen to ignore his disappearance, but she’s since learnt the truth of Ruby’s abuse at his hand.

Steph has been struggling since learning her grandfather is also her father, and now fans are predicting a potential return could see him obsessing over her.
