Loose Women’s Coleen Nolan was lost for words after Myleene Klass snapped at her over the singer’s comment about people in power. During Wednesday afternoon’s episode of the ITV programme, the panellists discussed US ambassador Peter Mandelson’s revelations.

Mandelson had confessed to continuing his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein ‘for far longer than he should have’. Coleen said she was ‘bored’ with hearing endless scandals about powerful people. She admitted: “I think it’s really depressing, I have lost faith in all of them – I can’t believe a word any of them say!”

Myleene was quick to cut in and say: “That’s terrible though!” while Coleen looked lost for words over the moment and said: “Oh, oh alright.”

Coleen rolled her eyes and defended herself by explaining: “It was just my opinion!” Myleene smoothed things over by telling Coleen: “No, no, your opinion is correct but the feeling you described is really worrying!”

However, Coleen then added: “Thanks!” Earlier this year, a Loose Women panellist criticised the decision to reduce the output of the long-running ITV show.

It follows the news of several changes to the broadcaster’s daytime schedule from the start of next year.

It was announced in May that from January the show will air for just 30 weeks of the year. It will continue to air for an hour between 12.30pm to 1.30pm but on a “seasonable basis”.

ITV said that the changes to the schedule were in part to it “generating savings which will allow [it] to reinvest across the programme budget in other genres”.

Sherrie Hewson, 74, who was a panellist on Loose Women between 2003 and 2017, recently questioned the decision to reduce the number of episodes. She suggested that it was “cruel,” describing the show as a “lifeline” to some viewers.

She told the Sun: “For women of all ages, those up to 95 down to younger women at home with young children, it’s like therapy to them.”

The star then added that it “feels cruel and sad” that the broadcaster is cutting episodes of Loose Women, which she said can “bring anger and emotions. “

Loose Women airs Monday to Friday on ITV at 12:30pm.
