DEION Sanders has opened up on his current status as a head coach amid rumors over his potential coaching future in the NFL.
The Colorado Buffaloes head coach has long been speculated to be a candidate for a coaching opening in the NFL, with six teams currently holding a vacancy at the position.

Sanders appeared on Good Morning America’s GMA3 program, revealing that he’s pleased with his situation and would only decide to join an NFL team that would draft both his sons, projected top-pick Shedeur Sanders and brother, Buffaloes safety Shilo.
“You know what? The only way I would consider [it] is to coach my son-s. Not son, son-s,” Sanders said on Wednesday.
One of GMA’s anchors pointed out that Sanders’ answer wasn’t a “no,” when asked about coaching in the NFL, which caused him to continue.
“I love Colorado. I love my Buffaloes. I love everything that we’re building,” he replied.
“I love everything that we’re doing.
“And I love Boulder, Colorado. I do. Immensely.”
Sanders finished his second season of coaching the Buffaloes.
He brought numerous players with him from Jackson State University where was previously a head coach.
Sanders brought in Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter to Colorado as well as two of his sons.
The NFL Hall of Famer turned the team around from a 1-11 record to a 9-4 record.

Sanders’ squad also made an appearance at the Alamo Bowl last month.
Shedeur will now leave Colorado for the NFL and is expected to be drafted within the first three picks of the upcoming draft.
He finished the season with 4,134 passing yards, 37 passing touchdowns, and 10 interceptions.
However, Shilo has been predicted to be a Day 3 prospect, or even an undrafted player altogether.
In 2024, he recorded 67 total tackles, one sack, and one forced fumble while recording two passes defended.
Shedeur and Shilo’s departures to the NFL have caused the sports world to speculate that Deion could leave for the professional league.
If Sanders were to be interested in the head coaching vacancies, six NFL teams don’t have a head coach: the New York Jets, Chicago Bears, New Orleans Saints, New England Patriots, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Las Vegas Raiders.
However, Sheduer is expected to be picked within the top three selections – and none of those teams have head coaching openings.
The Tennesee Titans, Cleveland Browns, and New York Giants hold the top three picks, respectively.
