Michael Strahan has been absent from “Good Morning America” and it is expected to continue throughout this week.
The “GMA” co-anchor has been absent from his hosting duties for nearly two weeks, which has prompted questions from viewers on his whereabouts.
His last appearance on the ABC News show came on Oct. 26.
It turns out he is dealing with family matters. Strahan’s NFL co-host, Curt Menefee, told viewers that he would not be appearing on the sports show because he was dealing with a personal matter.
“Michael Strahan will not be with us this week as he is dealing with some personal family matters,” a network spokesperson said in a statement to The Times. “We appreciate everyone’s thoughts and concerns.”
Fans have taken to his Instagram to send well wishes.

The former New York Giants star typically works alongside Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, Lara Spencer, and Ginger Zee on the morning show.
Strahan has also been absent from Strahan’s “Fox NFL Sunday.” He has been silent on social media, with his last post being on October 25 promoting his show “The $100,000 Pyramid.”
ABC anchor Linsey Davis has been filling in and is expected to continue doing so until Strahan can return.
Strahan retired with 141.5 career sacks, 854 career tackles, four career interceptions, 24 forced fumbles, and three career touchdowns in 200 games over a 15-year career.
