Beloved TV star’s death caught on camera as heartbroken mum issues plea
Cameras were rolling during Deadliest Catch star Todd Meadows’ final moments before his tragic death.
Deadliest Catch star Todd Meadows’ mother has issued a heartbreaking plea following her son’s untimely death. The 25-year-old tragically died after falling into icy waters in the Bering Sea, off the coast of Alaska, last week while filming the popular Discovery Channel series. The presenter’s body was recovered 10 minutes later, but resuscitation attempts were unsuccessful.
Angela, his mother, told TMZ: “We don’t want to see any footage of the accident and do not want Discovery to air any of that footage or make money off of our son’s death. We hope they only air good things of Todd on that boat.” She requested footage of her son crabbing so the family can remember him doing what he was so passionate about during his lifetime.

The family is waiting for an official answer to the cause of his death, but Angela has been assured that Todd did not suffer in the final moments of his life.
She added: “We don’t want to put the blame on anyone, but someone has to take responsibility. We will have justice for Todd.”
A US Coastguard spokesperson said officials were alerted that Todd went overboard on February 25 at around 5pm.
The alarm was raised by the fishing boat, Aleutian Lady, which reported the Discovery Channel star fell into the freezing water around 170 miles north of Dutch Harbour.
Following the news of his passing, a Discovery Channel spokesperson shared: “We are deeply saddened by the tragic passing of Todd Meadows. This is a devastating loss, and our hearts are with his loved ones, his crewmates and the entire fishing community during this incredibly difficult time. Our hearts are broken in a way that words can’t fully express.”
Captain Rick Shelford wrote on Facebook about the father-of-three: “We lost our brother, Todd Meadows. Todd was the newest member of our crew, he quickly became family. His love for fishing and his strong work ethic earned everyone’s respect right away.
“His smile was contagious, and the sound of his laughter coming up the wheelhouse stairs or over the deck hailer is something we will carry with us always.”
