Prince William has clung onto the top spot for the world’s sexiest bald man alive, but how did the royal get here?

The future king’s bald spot was a hot topic of discussion for his brother Harry in his bombshell memoir Spare. But the heir to the throne’s head was thrust into the limelight once again, when the list was published last year.

Prince William named the ‘world’s sexiest bald man’ alive more than once

The royal was given the new title after a survey found that 88% percent of women find bald men attractive, and Prince William has made it to the top of the charts for those still alive. He managed to beat A-list celebrities on the list as well as decorated actors and even a billionaire.

The man who is first in line to the throne is most likely occupied with another crown instead of this list. It comes after he was dethroned in 2022 by none other than Vin Diesel, the Fast and Furious movie star.

Data from SEO agency, Reboot, examined a number of factors to determine the Top 10 men who meet the quota.

It was the third time he won the title, after being number one the previous year. He was introduced in the list in 2021, but dropped down to fifth place the following results year. It could be his facial hair and embracing his beard has helped Prince William maintain the top spot for sexiest bald man alive.

How did he win the top spot?

They looked at golden ratio facial proximity, voice attractiveness, global search interest and cranial shine factor to determine the results. They produced a whole new ranking of the world’s sexiest bald men – and Prince William was the winner.

He was given a generous score of 9.86, with a vocal attractiveness of 9.91, and a shine factor of 8.90. He had a 9.88 rating in 2023, so somehow went down by 0.02 points! Whereas, his net worth is actually the third lowest on the list, standing in at £74 million ($100 million). But he is now in charge of the Duchy of Cornwall estate, which is estimated to be worth £1.2 billion.

We’re not sure if the heir celebrated with wife Kate Middleton over the news. But she probably understands the allure, as they’re happily married with three children.

Who Prince William beat for the sexiest bald man alive title

The Hollywood stars who missed the top spot include the likes of Vin Diesel (number two), Shaquille O’Neal (number three) and even Terry Crews (number five).

Vin Diesel may have been crowned the winner in 2022, but he only scored an overall result of 8.33 in 2024. We’re not sure what changed exactly.

Jason Statham and Jeff Bezos suffered blows in 2024, after appearing as number three and on the list the year prior. They didn’t feature at all in the Top 20. Bezos may be one of the richest people on the planet, but money didn’t buy him the medal in this case. We’re sure his fiancé doesn’t mind, though.

Prince Harry took a swipe at William’s bald spot in his book

Prince Harry‘s book unveiled several revelations, and he even mentioned his brother’s receding hairline in his memoir.

The duke wrote: “I looked at Willy, really looked at him, perhaps for the first time since we were little, taking in every detail: his familiar scowl, which had always been the norm in his dealings with me.”

The 40-year-old added William’s baldness was “alarming” and more “advanced than mine.” He also thought William’s resemblance to their mother, Princess Diana, had “faded” with age.

But the royal, who lives in his Montecito mansion with his family, saw the spotlight shine on him earlier this year. A photo of the dad-of-two on the BetterUp company website, where he is Chief Impact Officer, caused a stir on Twitter. The image appeared to show his hair thicker and darker, a striking contrast to recent photos of him at the time.

One royal expert even believed that his tension with his brother Wills could be the problem of his thinning locks.

Spencer Stevenson, from Spex Hair, explained: “Harry’s hair loss is categorically male pattern baldness, so already thinning out due to his genes.

“However, due to the high amount of stress he must’ve been through in recent years dealing with all the exposure surrounding him and his life, it will have definitely negatively impacted his hair.”

Spare beat the heir in another list

However, Harry appeared to beat his brother another attractiveness competition – the ‘hottest men of all time’, by Harper’s Bazaar.

The Duke of Sussex was ranked bang in the middle of the top 50, coming in position 25. Harry was named as one of the hottest men of all time after remaining as “one of the most covetable bachelors in the world” before he fell in love with his life.

The outlet said he was the ‘hottest’ he’s ever been when he played a game of ball with children during a royal event.

Whereas, William didn’t make the cut at all, with no sign of the prince on the list – but at least he can brag to his younger brother he’s still the sexiest bald man alive. The future king was given third place in the ‘sexiest’ man in the UK list as well.
